On your arrival in Delhi, you will be met by our representative and transferred to hotel. Delhi was the capital of Indraprastha and capital of the Pandavas during the Mahabharata. This magnificent city has been inhabited from the 6th century BC and has been a capital of many kingdoms. It has been destroyed and rebuilt many times and is called the "city of cities". Delhi's culture has been influenced by its different rulers and the city is full of beautiful monuments. The Mughal rulers influenced the food habits of the residents and Mughlai cuisine originated here. Due to the proximity of different states, all festivals are celebrated here. Old Delhi is a maze of small lanes lined and old buildings and New Delhi has large road with huge buildings. Delhi is the capital of India and is the hub for politics.

This afternoon you will be visiting Gurudwara Sisganj. Gurudwara Bangla sahib and Gurudwara Rakabganj. Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib was established in 1783 on the site where the ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur was beheaded by Aurangzeb for refusing to convert to Islam. Before his body could be cut and exposed to the public view, Lakhi Shah Vanjara a disciple stole the body and burnt his house to cremate the Guru's body. In this place Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib was built. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib is an important one as it is associated with the eighth Sikh Guru Har Krishan who resided here during 1664. At that time a smallpox and cholera epidemic struck and Guru Har Krishan while helping the others contracted the illness and passed away on March 30, 1664. At all these holy places, visitors have to cover their hair and leave their shoes outside.

This morning you will drive to Chandigarh. Later you have an excursion to Parivar Vichhora and Anandpur. Parivar Vichhora is where the 10th Guru Gobind Singh Ji's, family got separated due to an attack by the Mughal army. Here on a hill top Gurudwara Parivar Vichhora was built by the devotees. Anandpur Sahib was found in 1665 by the ninth Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur. The severed head of Guru Tegh Bahadur was brought to Anandpur Sahib by a disciple Bhai Jaita and cremated here by his son who later became Guru Gobind Singh. Overnight is in Chandigarh.

This morning you will be visiting Chandigarh. Chandigarh meaning "The Fort of Chandi" comes from an ancient temple Chandi Mandir which is near the city. Chandigarh is the first planned city of Independent India. The projects were designed by architects Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanerette, Jane Drew and Maxwell Fry and the city is globally known for its architecture and urban design. You will be visiting the Secretariat, High Court, State Library, Rose Gardens, University and the Botanical Garden. After the visit of Chandigarh, you will be transferred by road to Amritsar. This morning you will be visiting various Sikh religious places. Tarn Taran Sahib was founded by the Fifth Sikh Guru Arjun Dev Ji. The water in the tank at this holy place is supposed to have healing powers and lepers from distance places come here to take a dip. The important Gurudwaras here are Darbar Sahib Sri Guru Arjun Dev Ji, Gurudwara Guru Ka Khuh, Gurudwara Bibi Bhani Da Khuh, Gurudwara Takkar Sahib, Gurudwara Lakeer Sahib, Gurudwara Baba Garja Singh Baba Bota Singh, Gurudwara Jhulna Mahal, etc.

Gobindwal In the 16th century it became an important center for the Sikh religion during the Guruship of the Guru Amar Das. The third Guru Amar Das Ji stayed in Gobindwal for 33 years. It is believed that you could attain liberation from the 840000 cycles of life by saying the Japji Sahib, the divine Word at each of the 84 steps after taking a bath in the well. Continue onto Hazoor Sahib where the Samadhi of the second Sikh Guru Angad Dev Ji, was built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh in 1815. After the visits, return to Amritsar.

The afternoon city tour of Amritsar takes you to the Golden Temple and other top attractions of Amritsar. The Golden Temple referred as Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib was created in the 16th century by the fifth Sikh Guru. You would find 4 doors leading you towards the threshold of the temple. These doors signifies the ‘all religion and culture’ acceptance by the Sikh brethren the Guru Granth Sahib - The Holy Book of the Sikhs is placed reverently in the heart of the golden temple. Today morning you will be visiting Jallianwala Bagh where hundreds of innocent Indian men, women and children were massacred by British General Michael Dyer on April 13, 1919. A memorial and garden have been created here. Continue your visit to Baba Bakala a historical town associated with the ninth Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib who meditated here for 20 years. A Gurudwara Sahib was built in his memory. The annual fair on Raksha Bandhan attracts thousands of people. After the visits return to Amritsar. Evening is at leisure. Overnight is in Amritsar.

Today you will be transferred to Amritsar rail station in time for your Delhi train. On your arrival in Delhi, you will be transferred to your hotel. Depending on the train, rest of the time is at leisure. Optionally you could visit Swaminarayan Akshardham which is one of the world's largest temple complexes and built from Rajasthani pink sandstone and Italian marble. In this Hindu temple complex, there are statues of Swaminarayan, Sita Ram, Radha Krishna, Shiva Parvati, and Lakshmi Narayan. The main temple was built as per Vastu and Pancharatra Shastra and the main monument has carved details of flora, fauna, dancers, musicians, and deities. The temple has 234 pillars, nine domes, 20,000 idols of sages and 148 of full sized elephants. Yagnapurush Kund is a large step well with a musical fountain. A short boat ride takes you through 10,000 years of Indian history. Overnight is in Delhi.

This morning you have a half day tour of Delhi visiting Jama Masjid, passing by the iconic Red Fort and Chandni Chowk, Chandni Chowk, President House and Parliament. A rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk could be quite interesting as this part of the city is quite crowded as it is full of shops. These numerous shops sell delicious mouth-watering food, clothes, jewels, household, etc. and are virtually a shopper's paradise. In New Delhi visit Qutub Minar and Humayun’s Tomb.
